ORLANDO, FL. — The Orlando VA Medical Center joins the nation in observing Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s 90th birthday with a ceremony on Wednesday, Jan. 16 beginning at 10 a.m. in Conference Room 12, 4th floor clinic side.
Dr. King’s legacy is built on advocating for justice, love and peace. His philosophy calls upon all Americans to serve and act together.
The keynote speaker is Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings. Mr. Demings has served Orange County as the Public Safety Director, Orange County Sheriff and now Mayor. The Orlando native, Mr. Demings, has a long history of service to the local community. He was recognized by Orlando Magazine as one of the 50 Most Influential Central Floridians and recognized by the Orlando Sentinel as one of the 25 Most Influential Persons in Orlando.
The public is welcome to join the annual celebration! Refreshments and food will be served.
