ORLANDO, Fla. – ORLANDO, Fla. – Mental health practitioners throughout central Florida are invited to the Orlando VA Medical Center in Lake Nona on August 24 to attend the Orlando VA Healthcare System’s (VAHCS) annual summit on Veteran’s mental health issues.

The Orlando VAHCS is hosting the summit to enhance the mental health and well-being of Veterans and their family members through increased collaboration between the VA and the community.  The goal is to engage in active dialogue on how communities can address the mental healthcare needs of Veterans and their families.

The summit, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., will take place at the medical center in Lake Nona in the fourth-floor auditorium located at 13800 Veterans Way, Orlando, FL 32827. Registration will begin and 8:15 a.m. Attendees should park in the West Parking Garage and take the elevators to the fourth floor and follow the signs to the auditorium.

The event will focus on suicide prevention and supporting Veterans during their transition from military to civilian life. There will be opportunities for informal network so attendees should bring information about services and programs to share at the summit.
